Supply and use satellite accounts for extra-regio activities: 1998-2023

An official statistics in development publication for Scotland. Estimates of gross value added (GVA) and the supply and use of goods and services by the oil and gas industry operating in Scottish adjacent waters for the years 1998-2023.

Key points

  • Balanced annual estimates of Scotland’s offshore gross value added (GVA) and the supply and use of goods and services by the oil and gas industry have been updated for all years between 1998 and 2023.
  • Estimates of Scotland's GDP using each of the production, income and expenditure approaches are available, including an illustrative geographical share of UK extra-regio activity. This includes offshore oil and gas extraction activity in Scottish adjacent waters, and, for completeness, a population share of overseas public administration and defence activity. Estimates are consistent with the GDP Quarterly National Accounts for 2023 Quarter 4 and the latest oil and gas production, income and expenditure statistics.
