School Leaver Follow-up Destinations - Data Sources and Methodology

Introduction

This document provides information on the methodology and data sources used in the School Leaver Follow-up Destinations publications. The publications provide information on the main activities of school leavers nine months after the end of the school year (the first Monday each April).

The publications cover pupils who left publicly funded mainstream schools, in the 32 local authorities and one grant aided school (Jordanhill) in Scotland.

A separate release published in February each year provides information on the activities of school leavers three months after the end of the school year (the first Monday each October).
