Note: In 2010, Renfrewshire were unable to provide data on their direct payment packages. In addition, Aberdeenshire direct payments is not available in a format comparable to other local authorities and therefore has been excluded from the table.
Note: in 2011, Aberdeenshire were unable to provide detailed breakdowns of individual direct payment packages.
Note - The median is the middle value and is calculated by dividing the number of direct payments that have been arranged into ascending/descending order into 2 groups. E.g. if we take the following financial values and arrange them in order we get £3,£4,£5,£6,£6,£6,£7,£9,£17. The value in the middle, £6, is the median as there are four values on either side of it. The median has been used in this publication as it is not influenced by one or two extreme values.
