Manish Joshi

Manish Joshi became a non-executive director of the Scottish Government in 2024.

Manish is currently Chief Executive at Strathclyde Students’ Union, a role he will finish in the summer.  He is also Professor of Practice for Social Innovation leading the University of Strathclyde’s new social innovation cluster at the University and within the Glasgow City Innovation District (GCID). 

Manish has previously worked in financial services, health & social care, climate change & sustainability as well as in higher education and has spent the majority of his career as a leader in the not for profit and voluntary sectors - working locally, nationally and internationally. 

In addition to his executive roles, Manish has been a trustee and non-executive director of a number of organisations including the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) and currently with the Wheatley Group (including Wheatley Solutions and Lowther Homes) where his focus has been on governance as well as contributing his knowledge and experience in areas relating to equality, diversity and inclusion as well as sustainability and community engagement.
