We are responsible for protecting lives by ensuring assessment, and remediation of buildings with potentially unsafe cladding. We will ensure that there is no high-risk combustible cladding systems on multi-occupancy high-rise residential buildings in Scotland.

We will do this through:

  • the design, implementation and driving delivery of the Single Building Assessment
  • the Scottish Safer Buildings Accord and Developer Remediation Contract
  • legislation by way of the new Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Bill and Responsible Developers Scheme
  • working with partners to ensure that people of Scotland are safer in their homes and will live in buildings that are safer from cladding fire risk
  • continuing to keep homeowners and residents at the heart of our cladding remediation programme

We are responsible for:

  • introducing necessary legislation in the Scottish Parliament in the form of the Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Bill
  • developing policies to implement the Programme for Government and support Programme progress
  • designing and implementing the Single Building Assessment
  • design and delivery of the Scottish Safer Buildings Accord
  • design and delivery of the Scottish Developer Remediation Contract
  • the cladding Assurance Register
