Physical activity and sport: National Leadership Group
Overview
The Active Scotland Delivery Group was established in September 2018.
Meetings of the Active Scotland Delivery Group were paused during the pandemic. Subsequently, the role and function of the group was reviewed and it was renamed as the National Leadership Group for Physical Activity and Sport to better reflect its purpose to provide opportunities for key senior leaders to improve partnership working between organisations.
The membership of the group remains the same with the addition of representation from COSLA. It is chaired by the Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport.
The group remit is to:
- monitor delivery of the actions in the Active Scotland Delivery Plan
- identify opportunities to enhance delivery through partnership working
- consider recommendations from the Active Scotland Development Group on new or revised delivery actions or approaches
The group meets quarterly.
