Lybster CO2 storage: short life working group

Overview

This group, comprising interested agencies and subject matter experts, is being established in 2024 to assist with advising ministers in thoroughly assessing legislative and operational aspects of nearshore CO2 storage.

We would greatly appreciate the voice of industry in this group, and this is an open invite to any carbon capture and/or storage operator who would have an interest in helping the Scottish Government explore storing CO2 in nearshore waters, noting that it will likely only be for one site.

It is expected that the group will meet once a month for six months, with the first meeting being scheduled for the end of September.
