Homelessness: Ministerial Oversight Group
Overview
We are committed to ensuring everyone in Scotland has access to a safe, secure and affordable home. The Ministerial Oversight Group on Homelessness brings together ministers from different portfolios across the Scottish Government to identify what actions need to be taken to prevent and end homelessness in Scotland.
A cross-departmental approach is needed because the causes of homelessness are multi-faceted involving poverty, drug and alcohol abuse, mental ill health and leaving care or prison.
The group will ensure:
- responsibility is shared among the relevant ministers
- policy actions are co-ordinated
- an integrated approach to identifying and solving problems
