Planning: Proportionality of Assessments Short Life Working Group

Overview

This short life working group was established in June 2024 to address the proportionality of planning assessments. Good practice does exist, and the remit of the group is to identify and share this practice where it exists.

The group will identify key priorities for improvement and recommend actions to encourage a proportionate approach to the assessments required to accompany planning applications.

While economic investment, climate and housing are all Scottish Government priorities, initial focus will be on housing as an area where an immediate impact could be produced.
