Youth justice: Reimagining Secure Care Governance Group
Overview
We commissioned Children and Young People's Centre for Justice (CYCJ) to lead a project designed to create a comprehensive understanding amongst stakeholders of what is required to support secure care services to meet the needs of all children who are deprived of their liberty. The Reimagining Secure Care Governance Group will oversee delivery of the project and provide expertise and knowledge to support the work undertaken by the project team.
The group will:
- provide expertise and knowledge to support the work undertaken by the ‘Reimagining Secure Care’ team
- oversee delivery of the reimagining secure care transformational change
- consider interdependencies and impact on other areas including National Care Service, trauma responsive strategy, mental health, and wider care reform agenda
An interim report was published by CYCJ in December 2023 and a final report is expected in spring 2024.
