Background
Longitudinal Educational Outcomes (LEO) from Universities: 2016/17
This publication uses education records for students at university from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) linked to tax and benefits records from HRMC. It looks at those who graduated with a first degree qualification from higher education institutions (HEIs) in Great Britain, concentrating on those classified as UK domiciled prior to entry to higher education.
The employment data covers those with records submitted through the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) system and records submitted through the self-assessment system.
Further information on LEO data in Scotland is available in the publication on the Scottish Government website.
Official statistics are produced by professionally independent statistical staff in line with the standards of official statistics in Scotland.
