16 to 19 year olds Not in Employment, Education or Training ( NEET)
The number of 16 to 19 year olds not in employment, education or training in Scotland was estimated to be 32,000 in 2006, representing 12.4% of all 16 to 19 year olds in Scotland.
Table 16 shows the proportion and level of 16 to 19 year olds NEET. For many of the areas the estimates did not meet the minimum reliability thresholds. There are quite high confidence limits around the NEET estimate for Scotland, for a proportion of 12.4%, the true value is likely to lie between 11.1% and 13.7%, which is the 95% confidence interval for this measure.
