1. Have the government received any applications seeking animal rehoming activities (rehoming) licences from applicants neither residing nor having a place of business in Scotland?

2. The number of rehoming licences Scottish Ministers have issued since the 2021 regulations came into force?

3. What is the typical role(s) of the person who the Scottish Minister appoints to carries out the licensing inspections?

4. Have you refused granting a rehoming activities licence?

Response

1.  The Scottish Government has received applications seeking animal rehoming activities (rehoming) licences from applicants neither residing nor who have a place of business in Scotland.

2. A total of six Rehoming Licences have been issued since The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Scotland) Regulations 2021 came into effect on 1 September 2021

3. The licences issued by the Scottish Government do not require licensing inspections.

4. To date no valid and complete licence application has been refused.
