Conclusion

I have examined all the applications for King’s Counsel and the related documents and have discussed with the Lord Justice General the assessment process overall and the outcome in terms of those being recommended for appointment and some possible adjustments to the Guide for Applicants for next year’s round. I am satisfied that the appointment process has been fair, thorough and transparent and that the recommendations for appointment being made to the First Minister are based on merit.

I am grateful to the Lord Justice General and to his private office for their courtesy and support throughout my review.
