Worker Shortage

In the period 7 October to 20 October 2024, businesses not permanently stopped trading were asked if they were currently experiencing a shortage of workers.

Figure 1: 25.0% of businesses reported experiencing a shortage of workers. The industry sector with the highest proportion of businesses reporting a shortage of workers was Accommodation & Food Services (31.9%), followed by Administrative & Support Service Activities (30.1%).
