Business Concerns

In the period 4 November to 17 November 2024, the BICS asked businesses about their main concerns for December 2024.

Business concern question: Which of the following, if any, will be the main concern for your business in December 2024?

  • competition with other UK businesses
  • energy prices
  • exchange rates
  • inflation of goods and services prices

Figure 2: The top concern for businesses for December 2024 was falling demand of goods and services (16.0%), followed by taxation (11.9%). However, 17.3% of businesses had no concerns.
