Turnover
In Wave 63 businesses were asked how their turnover compared with the previous calendar month.
Figure 8: An estimated 46.1% of businesses reported that their turnover had stayed the same in July 2022 compared to June 2022. A further 24.1% of businesses reported that their turnover had increased over this period. An estimated 23.0% of businesses reported that their turnover had decreased over this period – rising to 29.3% of businesses in the Wholesale, Retail, Repair of Vehicles industry sector.

Businesses were also asked what percentage of their turnover came from online sales. Of business with online sales, 13.5% reported that more than 50% of turnover came from online sales – rising to 28.3% of businesses in the Accommodation and Food Services industry sector. An estimated 43.9% of businesses reported that less than 10% of their turnover came from online sales.
