Business Insights and Conditions Survey (BICS) weighted Scotland estimates containing data to wave 83.
Wages
In Wave 83, the BICS asked businesses how employees' hourly wages in April 2023 compared with wages in March 2023.
In Wave 83, 50.9% reported that wages increased in April 2023, compared to March 2023; up from 20.5% when comparing March with February 2023. This increase in the share of businesses reporting that wages increased may reflect the fact that April marks the start of a new financial year.
