Please provide the dates of all Cabinet meetings since the new Lord Advocate took up her post, as well as stating which of these Cabinet meetings was attended by the new Lord Advocate.

I enclose a copy of all of the information you requested.

The Rt Hon Dorothy Bain KC was appointed as Lord Advocate on 18 June 2021.

In 2021, since her appointment, Cabinet met 24 times. A Law Officer attended 21 of these meetings: the Lord Advocate on 17 occasions and the Solicitor General on behalf of the Lord Advocate on four occasions. The dates are set out in the annex.

In 2022, Cabinet met 41 times. A Law Officer attended 27 of these meetings: the Lord Advocate on 18 occasions and the Solicitor General on behalf of the Lord Advocate on nine occasions. The dates are set out in the annex.

By the date of your request on 8 May 2023, Cabinet had met 14 times. A Law Officer attended six of these meetings: the Lord Advocate on five occasions and the Solicitor General on behalf of the Lord Advocate on one occasion. On one occasion, both Law Officers attended. The dates are set out in the annex.
