Central Government Energy Efficiency Grant Scheme Progress Report

A project progress report which includes details of projects that received capital grant funding through the Scottish Central Government Energy Efficiency Grant Scheme.

Introduction

This document produced by the Energy and Climate Change Directorate in the Scottish Government summarises the projects supported by the Central Government Energy Efficiency Grant Scheme as part of the wider Green Public Sector Estate Decarbonisation Scheme (GPSEDS).

The Scottish Central Government Energy Efficiency Grant Scheme offers capital grant funding support to enable the delivery of decarbonisation projects across the public sector, specifically supporting retrofit of existing buildings owned by Central Government organisations that have previously had limited, or no access to borrowing funds for this type of work.

This document includes an overview and a series of summaries for each of the projects supported by the Scottish Government through Checkpoints 1–7 of the Central Government Energy Efficiency Grant Scheme which re-launched in June 2022.

From Checkpoint 5 (August 2023) the scheme no longer funds single energy efficiency measure projects.

From Checkpoint 7 (February 2024) the scheme no longer funds LED lighting or lighting controls. Solar PV is only eligible if applicants can demonstrate how it supports a clean heating system.
