Overview
Scottish educational institutions are invited to apply for funding to set up and host a national Centre for Teaching Excellence.
The Centre for Teaching Excellence will support research and innovation into new approaches for teaching and learning.
Applicants must demonstrate that their proposal is cost-effective and impactful, and provide justification for all costs.
Funding is available over 2 financial years:
- £800,000 to the end of March 2025
- £3.5 million to £4 million between April 2025 and end of March 2026
The application process has 2 stages. This guidance covers stage 2.
The 2nd stage of applications to host the Centre is only open to successful applicants from stage 1. The deadline for applications is 29 November 2024.
Applicants are asked to provide the following at stage 2:
- additional information to support meeting the aims and objectives of the Centre for Teaching Excellence
- equalities assessment
- monitoring and evaluation plan
- detailed line breakdown of costs
