Cereal and oilseed rape harvest: final estimates - 2022
Final estimates of area, yield and production for winter and spring barley, wheat, oats and oilseed rape, for the 2022 harvest.
Record oilseed rape yield and production
In 2022 oilseed rape yield was 4.3 tonnes per hectare. Oilseed rape production was 0.2 million tonnes.
Oilseed rape yield increased by 12% in 2022 to its highest value in the last 20 years. Combined with a 7% increase in area this resulted in the highest production over the past two decades. Production increased 19% compared to 2021.
Oilseed rape estimates are not as reliable as those of other crops. This is because smaller amounts are grown.
