Cereal and oilseed rape harvest: final estimates - 2024
Final estimates of area, yield and production for winter and spring barley, wheat, oats and oilseed rape, for the 2024 harvest.
Oilseed rape production decreases following a record crop in 2023
In 2024, oilseed rape yield is 3.6 tonnes per hectare. Yield decreases 11% compared to 2023 and is below the 5-year average of 3.9 tonnes per hectare.
Oilseed rape production was 0.13 million tonnes. Production in 2024 drops below the 5-year average, following a record year in 2023. The area of oilseed rape decreased 10% compared to its record high in 2023 but remained above average.
Oilseed rape estimates are not as reliable as those of other crops. This is because smaller amounts are grown.
