Updated child rights and wellbeing impact assessment (CRWIA) report evidencing the consideration that has been given to the impact the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 will have on children and young people.

This is an updated assessment of the potential impact of UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act, post reconsideration stage and to reflect the amendment made to section 8 through the Children (Care and Justice) (Scotland) Act 2024, on the rights and wellbeing of children. The Scottish Government will continue to review and update this document where required during implementation. Any future iterations will reflect an increased understanding of these impacts as the amount of evidence available continues to grow.
This impact assessment should be read in conjunction with the CRWIA and Equality and Fairer Scotland Impact Assessment published at introduction of the bill.
