Aftercare
Aftercare refers to the advice, guidance and assistance provided to care leavers under section 29 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) 1995 Act. Please see background notes for eligibility criteria.
On 31 July 2022, 8,132 young people were eligible for aftercare services – an 11% increase from 7,323 in the previous year (see Table 2.10).
Of those eligible, 4,108 were in receipt of aftercare services – up 5% from 3,931 in the previous year.
