Business and regulatory impact assessment for the 2024 Amendment Order providing a technical update to the Short-Term Lets licensing scheme. It includes provisions which have a practical effect on the operation of the scheme.
6. Competition Assessment
The provisions in the 2024 Amendment Order are not assessed as having a negative impact on the ability of STL operators to compete in the market. The few provisions which have any effect on business are aimed at increasing the ability of operators to compete, by supporting new businesses to apply for a provisional licence, and existing businesses to be sold as a going concern with provision for licence transfer.
