The process

The application stage includes a form with word-limited questions.

The ‘Assessing your application’ page gives the assessment criteria against which bids will be scored.

A Scottish Government panel will review applications to ensure they are fully completed and meet the CEF’s aims and assessment criteria. Incomplete applications or those that do not meet the CEF’s criteria and eligibility requirements will not be assessed further.

If your application successfully meets the assessment criteria, you may still be asked to provide further information or clarification and/or financial information to support your bid. Successful bids will then receive an offer of grant detailing the conditions of funding.

Fund timeline

The fund closed to applications on 2359 on Tuesday 7 May 2024.

Bids will be assessed and grants administered by the end of May 2024.

The Fund’s ‘project delivery’ period runs for around eleven months, from May 2024 to March 2025. It is not expected that all funded projects have to deliver throughout this entire period. Projects will be able to propose their own timetables based on what is realistic and sensible to deliver.

Should your application be successful please remember that you will be required to demonstrate measurable progress towards achieving/completing the activities and outcomes as part of our monitoring progress update reports. Details will be provided in the grant offer letter for successful applications.
