I'd like to access the information requested in FOI 202200269272 (Co2 monitoring in schools across Scotland: FOI release - gov.scot (www.gov.scot))

Due to the size of the files, I note that it wasn't possible to upload the documents to the FOI page so would be grateful if you could provide the information through an alternative route.

If there is more recent data available, I would be grateful if you could provide that as well as the data from the FOI last year.

I have enclosed a copy of the information you requested in relation to FOI 202200269272 in the Annex to this letter. Local authorities are no longer required to provide us with this detailed information.

We can confirm that all learning, teaching and play spaces in Scottish schools (over 51,000 spaces) have been equipped with a CO2 monitor, and this has helped to provide schools with greater reassurance and confidence that the learning estate is equipped to mitigate against the impacts of COVID.

We made up to £4.8 million of additional capital funding available to local authorities in January 2022 to further support local authorities with continuing improvements to ventilation. This was on top of the £10 million that was allocated to local authorities for CO2 monitors and ventilation improvements in the Autumn 2021.

Our existing collaborative working arrangements with local authorities are being fully utilised to reinforce the importance of continuing to use the CO2 monitors installed in each space to actively balance temperature and ventilation.
