Seeking views on Section 9(2)(b)(i) of the Act – the length of time for which support and assistance must be given to adult victims of trafficking.

1. There are two competent authorities in the UK; the Home Office and the Modern Slavery Human Trafficking Unit (part of the National Crime Agency).
2. The National Referral Mechanism is the system under which victims in Scotland (and the UK in general) are assessed to determine whether they are indeed a victim of human trafficking.
