Convictions broken down by age: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

You asked for Convictions by age.

Response

I enclose some of the information you requested.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for because the most current data we hold is up to 25 December 2022. We also do not currently have a crime sub-group break down from 2021-22 onwards.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

We are able to provide a full response to 1) and 2), a partial response to 3) and 4) (no sub-group breakdown), and a partial response to 5) and 6) (no sub-group breakdown, and only up to 25 December 2022).

Note on data: Tables 1 and 2 have been calculated from the Scottish Government's Criminal Proceedings database using data from the Police Scotland Criminal History system and Tables 3 and 4 use data from Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) administrative database (COPII), so different methodologies have been used for these tables. Data for Tables 3-6 is based on management information derived from live operational databases and as such may be subject to minor changes over time.
