Competition Assessment

We do not foresee significant competition issues within the sector, as all non-essential indoor (non-office) workplaces, including labs and research facilities, will restart at the same time. Essential work in labs and research facilities that have continued to operate throughout lockdown will have been able to continue since the start of lockdown.

However, there was some concern from Scottish institutions that they would be at a competitive disadvantage to their English counterparts as their guidance was published earlier (11 May 2020).
