Information requested

  1. How many residents affected by Storm Arwen were contacted by the Scottish Government for the purpose of conducting its Storm Arwen review. Please provide the number of residents contacted between 26 November 2021 and 27 January 2022.
  2. All correspondence between Scottish Government Ministers and residents affected by Storm Arwen (including emails, attachments, typed or handwritten notes, letters, notes/records of phone calls, minutes of meetings, briefings, WhatsApp messages or otherwise) in the dates between 26 November 2021 and 27 January 2022.

Response

How many residents affected by Storm Arwen were contacted by the Scottish Government for the purpose of conducting its Storm Arwen review. Please provide the number of residents contacted between 26 November 2021 and 27 January 2022.

The Scottish Government did not directly contact individual residents for the purposes of conducting its Storm Arwen review. The review was based on strategic information and analysis from Local Resilience Partnerships (which constitute most front-line responders), utility companies, and the voluntary sector.

All correspondence between Scottish Government Ministers and residents affected by Storm Arwen (including emails, attachments, typed or handwritten notes, letters, notes/records of phone calls, minutes of meetings, briefings, WhatsApp messages or otherwise) in the dates between 26 November 2021 and 27 January 2022.

Items of correspondence between Scottish Government Ministers and residents affected by Storm Arwen between 26 November and 27 January 2022, which are held by the Scottish Government, are provided at Annex A.

Some of the individuals who have been involved in correspondence have an expectation of privacy under General Data Protection Regulations. Accordingly, names of officials who are not Senior Civil Service grades or equivalent, and members of the public, have been redacted.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for in relation to other types of correspondence.
