Criminal Justice Modernisation and Abusive Domestic Behaviour Reviews (Scotland) Bill: Fairer Scotland Duty summary

The Criminal Justice Modernisation and Abusive Domestic Behaviour Reviews (Scotland) Bill is a dual purpose Bill and covers provisions that relate to criminal justice modernisation and domestic homicide and suicide reviews. This summarises findings of the Fairer Scotland Duty impact assessment.

Summary of assessment findings

The Scottish Government continues to engage with the sectors involved in this work and those with lived experience of domestic abuse or bereaved by domestic homicide and domestic suicide to support the model’s development and implementation.

The Taskforce, Model Development Subgroup, and Task and Finish Groups will continue the development of the Domestic Homicide and Suicide Review model for Scotland with consideration to any adjustments that may be required to address inequalities associated with particular groups.

Together, these groups will continue to identify gaps in evidence and collect new evidence to ensure that the model developed is fit for purpose and cognisant of any inequalities of outcomes.
