The successful applicants of the Design Charrettes and Activating Ideas fund 2016 to 2017.
Community involvement is of central importance to the creation of good places. On 3 August 2016 we launched the 2016 to 2017 Design Charrette programme, alongside a new fund: Activating Ideas.
Charrettes bring together the public, stakeholders and designers over a number of days to draw up proposals to make their towns and villages better places to live. The Activating Ideas fund supports participation and empowerment initiatives in disadvantaged areas.
The Minister for Local Government and Housing, Kevin Stewart, announced the winning projects on 6 December 2016. The two programmes amount to £300,000 grant funding in total, which will be shared among 19 projects across Scotland.
