Detect Cancer Earlier marketing campaign: evaluation report 2022/2023

An overview of the Detect Cancer Earlier campaign which ran from 6 to 31 March 2023, including independent evaluation results.

7. Community Roadshow

A roadshow took place over 15 days at nine different venues across five local authorities: Edinburgh, Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, Inverclyde and Dundee.

Members of the public were invited to meet the Early Birds from the advert and have in-depth conversations with field staff about early detection. The approachable nature of the stand and staff set a warm tone and created an environment where members of the public felt comfortable discussing the sensitive subject matter.

The field activity offered access to DCE's online symptom checker via an iPad so that members of the public could find out more about possible symptoms of cancer and, where applicable, were prompted to contact their GP practice.

Information leaflets were distributed, allowing people (including individuals who were not digitally minded) to read and retain the key messages following their visit to the stand.
