Almost all (a combined 89.1%) were supportive of the proposal that an amended NPF should take effect once adopted by Scottish Ministers, while there were some neutral responses.

Question 9B)

Where applicable, please give reasons for your answer.

27 respondents provided further comment at Question 9B.

Summary /Themes

Almost all of the respondents who answered Question 9B were supportive, with one neutral response.

There was broad consensus across these responses that this approach was reasonable and would allow for clarity.

One response from the development sector commented that having a set time period for the new amended NPF taking effect following adoption would give greater certainty to the development industry.

One planning authority, whilst supportive in their response, commented that the adoption of amendments to the development plan raises questions as to the date of adoption of the overall document, and whether the date of adoption of amendments would now supersede the original adoption date of NPF4.
