Discretionary Housing Payments in Scotland: 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024

The expenditure statistics in this publication are for the amounts spent or committed to be spent on DHP awards for the financial year 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024. Committed spend occurs, for example, if a local authority decides to award funds for the whole of 2023-24, but this may be paid out in instalments throughout the year rather than in one lump sum.

Chart 1 and Table 3 show the value of DHPs in Scotland during the financial year 2023-24, with a comparison of the spend profile for 2022-23. Spending during 2023-24 has been above that for the previous year every month, and followed a broadly similar profile.
