How Scotland deals with prostitution now
There are things about prostitution which are against the law in Scotland, including:
- Running a venue where prostitution happens
- Making attempts in a public place to sell sex to others. Making attempts in a public place to buy sex from others
- Getting someone to have sex with another person for money
- Trafficking people for prostitution. Trafficking can include making people work in situations they would choose not to.
The law is clear. No-one can be forced into sexual acts without their consent. It is against the law to force someone to engage in sexual acts.
