How the data is processed

The majority of the research data we collect will be through contractors that are appointed to conduct research in schools or local authorities. They will be the data processors and will be contractually responsible to the Scottish Government to keep the data securely and dispose of it once it is no longer needed. On occasion, the Scottish Government conducts primary research (i.e. completely new data) with internal resources, and resulting personal data will be kept securely in a restricted areas of Scottish Government Systems.
