Education Analytical Services: Privacy notice on collection of contact details
Why do we need your data
The operation of the UK’s statistical system is governed by the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007. The Act provided for the creation of the UK Statistics Authority, with a statutory responsibility to promote and safeguard the production and publication of official statistics that serve the public good.
The Act requires the Statistics Authority to adopt a Code of Practice for Official Statistics which applies to all UK bodies that produce official statistics.
Therefore, as the Scottish Government Education Analytical Services Division is a producer of official and National Statistics, it has a statutory requirement to promote and safeguard the production and publication of official statistics that serve the public good.
As such, we have a lawful basis to process your personal data, as we need to liaise with:
- organisations who provide data to us in order for us to produce such statistics;
- users, stakeholders and other interested parties to understand their views and opinions, and to meet their needs, as part of our statistical, research and economic activities.
