Emails between Scottish Government and Sinn Fein: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

  • The total number of e-mails sent between Scottish Government and Sinn Fein e-mail accounts each year, starting from 30 March 2023 up to present day.
  • The contents of these e-mails.
  • If possible, details of who sent these e-mails (for example, Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for XXX) and what date the email was sent.

Response

A total of four e-mails were received from Sinn Fein e-mail addresses between 30 March 2023 and 9 June 2023. These e-mails were received on the following dates:

  • 20 April 2023
  • 26 April 2023
  • 14 May 2023
  • 30 May 2023

The e-mails were sent to the Head of Scotland House in London and were general circulation newsletters and were not retained in line with our record management policy.

No e-mails were sent from the Scottish Government to Sinn Fein during the period in question.
