Employment Injury Assistance (EIA) delivery – next steps: Scottish Government response - easy read
Easy read version of our response to the consultation on Employment Injury Assistance held between 30 April and 25 June 2024.
Introduction
This consultation is the first step in how we deliver a new benefit called Employment Injury Assistance.
Employment Injury Assistance will be for people who are injured or disabled, or have a disease, because of their work.
The Scottish Government will establish a stakeholder advisory group to help us decide the next steps for developing Employment Injury Assistance.
This group will mean we are talking to and listening to people and groups with experience of industrial injuries.
We are taking the time to understand the challenges with the current benefit called the Industrial Injuries Scheme.
This is delivered by the UK Government. We want to create a new modern benefit, Employment Injury Assistance.
