Overview of key facts and trends relating to energy in Scotland for Q1 2024


In 2022, 50,300 GWh of electricity was generated in Scotland. This resulted in 1.75 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. The resulting emission figure of 35g of CO2e per kWh remains below the 2018 ambition of 50g of CO2e/kWh as shown in figure 4.
