Final Energy Consumption

Scotland has a target to reduce final energy consumption by 12% by 2020 from a 2005 to 2007 baseline.

Final 2020 data shows that consumption remains below 12%,18.7% lower than the baseline, figure 1 indicates changes by percentage point.

Total energy consumption in Scotland dropped by 5.9% from 2019 to 2020, driven by a 21.5% decrease in transport consumption caused by the pandemic (figure 2).
