Energy Statistics for Scotland - Q2 2024

Overview of key facts and trends relating to energy in Scotland for Q2 2024

Final Energy Consumption

Total final energy consumption in Scotland continues to fall and as of 2022, is 18% lower than the baseline figure from 2005 – 2007.

Energy Consumption in the transport and non-domestic sectors has risen from 2021 levels but the total final energy consumption of households in Scotland has seen an 11% fall from 2021. The largest reductions have been in household electricity and gas consumption and in commercial oil consumption.

Revisions to the methodology for energy consumption within the transport sector mean that the total final energy consumption timeseries has been revised. This means that the 2022 figures cannot be compared directly to previously published figures.
