Information requested

1. All correspondence, including internal correspondence, about the UNCRC, between the UK and Scottish Government between April 2023 and the date of his FOI.

2. All analysis undertaken by the Scottish government on the success of the Baby Box done so far in 2023, including internal briefings about this?

Response

1. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide the information you have requested because of the following exemptions: exemption under section Section 28 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) - Disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice substantially relations between administrations in the UK; exemption under Section 25 of the FOISA Act 2002 - Information otherwise accessible; and exemption under Section 36 (1) of the FOISA Act 2002 - Professional Legal Privilege. Further details about these exceptions are provided in Annex A.

2. The Scottish Government has not undertaken any evaluation on the success of the Baby Box in 2023.

The Scottish Government published an independent evaluation of Scotland’s Baby Box which highlighted the positive impact of the scheme on families on 13 August 2021, which can be found at: Baby Box: evaluation - gov.scot (www.gov.scot)

We will continue to evaluate how Scotland’s Baby Box is helping families and continue to monitor how it can be improved in the future, date for which evaluation has not been set yet.

Annex A - REASONS FOR NOT PROVIDING INFORMATION

An exemption applies to the following correspondence.
