Equality and Human Rights Mainstreaming Strategy: Consultation - Easy Read

Easy Read version of the Consultation on Scottish Government's Equality and Human Rights Mainstreaming Strategy. The Strategy will guide the Government, the wider public sector, and our partners to improve embedding equality, inclusion, and human rights into all that we do

Theme 3. Making sure we have rules and policies that work well

We want to have:

  • good ways to develop and make new rules and policies
  • laws that support Scotland to be a world leader in equality and human rights
  • good rules and policies that:
    • make human rights happen for all the people of Scotland
    • follow the public sector equality duty

The public sector equality duty means that public bodies must think about how their decisions affect some groups of people.
