Describing how Equality Impact analysis has shaped the policy making process

The Equality Impact analysis has shaped the work programme by:

  • ensuring consideration of the intersecting inequalities that people face are reflected in the planning stage;
  • providing a space for reflection on possible risks and negative impacts that may arise from the risks;
  • enhancing knowledge of the inequalities that people may face and the intersection the proposed work may have;
  • providing more evidence for the important of appropriately joining the proposed work programme with ongoing related work on equalities;
  • providing further incentive to put equalities at the centre of the desired outcomes of the work programme.

Monitoring and Review

The programme of work has been subject to feedback from the short life working group throughout the duration of the project. Further feedback and scrutiny will be gathered through the wider, public consultation.
