Evidence held by the Scottish Government supporting the claim that the 2023/24 budget delivers a £6.6m uplift to Creative Scotland funding: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

Please provide any evidence held by the Scottish Government which supports the claim that the 2023/24 budget delivers a £6.6m uplift to Creative Scotland funding.

Response

I would like to draw your attention to the published opening statement, regarding the £6.6 million uplift, made by Deputy First Minister John Swinney on 21 February 2023, which is available at https://www.gov.scot/publications/stage-3-budget-debate/

Please be aware that Chapter 11 of the draft Scottish Budget: 2023-24, published on 15 December 2022, shows funding of £64.2 million for Creative Scotland & Other Arts. This is where the additional £6.6 million will be placed at the Autumn Budget Revision stage, although the Other Arts budget includes other expenditure which itself may change at the same Revision stage. The draft Scottish Budget: 2023-24 is available online at https://www.gov.scot/publications/scottish-budget-2023- 24/pages/12/
