8. Regional comparisons of breakdown of Gross Expenditure by service-grouping, 2013-14
Figure 6 presents local authority level figures for the proportion of Gross Expenditure on adult (aged 18+) Social Care services in 2013-14 that was on community-based services, as opposed to accommodation-based services (as introduced in Section 4). Figures range from 35% in Dundee City to 72% in North Lanarkshire, with the Scotland average being 51%. These variations will reflect the combined influences of regional differences in; demography, the relative costs of providing different types of services and the structure of service provision.
Regional comparisons of the balance of expenditure by service-grouping may be produced for specific client groups for a given year using Chart 7B of the data spreadsheet.
